I feel mixed about this one. It took me a long time to get into but I flew through the second half. Roller derby was interesting but actually think it wasn’t that necessary for the story. I liked the characters and always enjoy a good ice queen- and in this case I especially liked Erica’s parents- would have loved to see more from Cheyenne’s mom. The supporting characters were great, especially Anwar. Loved the last chapter and Cheyenne most of all.

Short summary: Erica wants to make partner but first she has to show she can play nice with others. She’s assigned a mentee who’s as attractive as she is smart and bubbly but Erica doesn’t have time for distractions. Until Cheyenne shows up at derby and becomes infuriating in addition to a nuisance.
