I kept seeing this book in my feed and now I see why. It’s a beautiful romance. The love story unfolds with direction and chemistry but significant hurdles. The battles the women face internally and more significant ones externally are handled with poise and care. The characters are fully fledged and deep. This book is well written, tackles nuanced themes, and sprinkles of literary and theatrical references I really enjoyed. All I can say is wow and thank goodness there’s a book 2!

For authors: this is a great example of low steam but high chemistry.
Note: Not sure if there’s a trigger warning, but there should be for assault.

Short summary: Alex is an up and coming soccer star on the cusp of a brilliant career. During a stormy night on vacation, she saves a woman’s life at sea. The wife of a Senator. A gorgeous, wealthy, brilliant and lonely woman, who Alex has a striking connection with. But Alex is straight and endorsed by a straight-laced Christian mega company, and Catharine is married and so far out of her league. Somehow, Catharine keeps showing up and Alex keeps saying yes to their friendship..ignoring the warning bells and stirrings in her chest. The stakes are too high, they’re too different, and Alex can’t be having these feelings. Or can she?
