I dove right into this one, excited for another ice queen romance. It had me mostly hooked until about 90% and then I felt a bit let down. It’s hard to put my finger on exactly why, and without spoiling anything I’ll just say I was expecting certain tensions to arise that didn’t materialize and others felt forced in the end. Some threads worked better than others. Also, while I would love for everyone to be gay, it felt like the sexuality of some characters was a bit too coincidental. This book is long, and while I enjoyed the peek into the rigorous world of ballet, I think it could have been shorter. On the whole, I was really impressed with Lola Keeley’s writing and loved the chemistry between Anna and Victoria. Victoria is frosty and sunny Anna is a good balance.

Short summary: Anna is about to live her dream as a dancer in an elite ballet troupe, but in her first week she’s tapped by her idol to dance a principal role. Victoria is a task master but Anna doesn’t mind since it gives her more time with her beautiful hero. Victoria needs one season to save her career and doe-eyed Anna might just be her ticket. Can Anna withstand the pressure and keep her hands to herself?
