A really interesting theme of sexism and homophobia in the late 90’s is woven through this book which takes place in 1997 during the time of the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal. It is a slowwwww burn romance. It wasn’t super sexy but the romance part was great, and the story is interesting.

Short Summary: Molly is a grad student in political science. Carmen is her sexy, uptight statistics professor who is navigating a homophobic, sexist department at a time when being out is novel and risky. The two uncover a scandal about another professor and as they work together to build a case, they grow closer to each other, but Carmen is too ethical to be with a student…
