This book is a good self-discovery novel on many levels – religion, love, reconciling with the past. It handles sexism well and paints sex work in a positive light. My main complaint is that the MC is a sex worker but it takes the characters most of the book to even kiss. It felt like the plot was more in control than the characters in this one. The main character is bisexual and Rosie Danan handles her sexuality well.
Great quote: “Naomi wore sharp, straight lines and a lipstick that turned her mouth into a stop sign.”
Short Summary: Naomi is dynamite – founder of a sex-positive website determined to share her knowledge with the world. Except the world isn’t interested in hearing from her offline. Enter Ethan, rabbi of a failing synagogue looking to shake things up, who hires Naomi to teach a course on Modern Intimacy. They start to fall for each other, but will their communities accept them?
