This series is fire! Anna Burke is masterful at creating strong female leads who are complex characters and know their power. The story revolves around two veterinarians and you learn a lot about what it means to be in that industry – I love a book that teaches me something while also delivering a great romance.

Short summary: Emilia is an overworked shelter vet who returns to Seal Cove to settle her father’s estate. Morgan has a strong group of friends (great minor characters!) and loves her job but is heartbroken when she is dumped by her fiancée. Emilia and Morgan start a fling given Emilia’s short time in the area but it quickly becomes serious and both must decide what/if they are willing to sacrifice to stay together.
