Wilson says everyone calls her brave, but what I think she’s got is gumption, an insane work ethic, and charisma. The woman is Driven. She went from crushing cans at dog shows to make money to $20M Hollywood actress able to rent a private island - if the book is to be believed, she did it based on talent, practice, and determination. Her personality and insecurities shine in the book. It feels honest. Sometimes repetitive and name-droppy (tho she does call herself out). And I did wish for more insights rather than self-adulation, as well as more details about her weight loss journey - especially what happened after she lost the weight. But ultimately, I think this memoir shows we all need to get off our high horses and keyboards and be gentler, talk to each other, and get vulnerable - because it’s impossible to know what’s underneath otherwise.

Short summary: a memoir of Rebel Wilson’s life, from bogan to celebrity, her battle with weight and infertility, the uphill climb of Hollywood, and finding love later in life.
