I’m finding that I love stories where two people who would never meet have a random but plausible interaction that leads to a connection and ultimately to being exactly what the other needs. That’s what this book is, and it does it well against the backdrop of a hotel renovation reality show. I thought there were some places that could have been trimmed and some things that resolved themselves a bit too easily, but I liked these characters and their journey together. The chemistry is there, and I liked that their relationship didn’t follow a traditional path per se. It was a delightful read that kept me engaged.
Short summary: When Arte’s gran dies suddenly, she leaves Arte with her hotel…which needs a lot more work than Arte anticipated. Luckily, and unbeknownst to Arte, her gran had secured a spot on Hotel SOS, a renovation show. Enter beautiful but severe Charlotte. The two women couldn’t be more different. As Arte struggles to realize her dream, Charlotte wonders if she’s been chasing the wrong one.
