It was a joy to be back in the world of Christmas Mouse this time with Fletcher and Kylie, and considerably more angst. Second chance is officially my favorite trope. It lends built-in tension and chemistry, demanding that the pages keep turning. I couldn’t put it down. Mounted archery?!! Yes, please!!! The only thing I struggled with was the element of miscommunication. Also I didn’t see either character as an ice queen- but that didn’t detract at all from the story. I loved the love between these women despite their differences, and their journey together and separately.

Short summary: Kylie is one audition away from the role of her life or washing out. All she needs to do is prove she can shoot an arrow from a moving horse and for that she needs the help of a woman 12 years in her past, who will barely look at her.
