I really enjoyed this erotic romance. It was different seeing the ice queen as the submissive but it made sense with the characters. BDSM is front and center in this story with an emphasis on masochism and bondage, which was at times hard to read but made sense with the story and had well-written steam..a lot of it. I appreciated the advice Vivienne gave her niece navigating challenging situations at school, and also the look at being a professor and the challenges that come with the job. I wish we had gotten Selene’s POV and a little more on the romance side to understand the love part of their connection. But overall, I couldn’t put it down and as a nerd, I loved Vivienne’s job and would have definitely taken her classes!

Short summary: tightly-wound Vivienne finds release in a dominatrix whose card randomly tumbles out of a book. Things get complicated when she discovers Selene is her niece’s (/adopted daughter) principal.
