I really enjoy Monica McCallan’s books. This is another femme/femme second chance romance this time set in Hollywood. I loved the way she wrote Sloane’s desire as she realized she was attracted to Campbell. And I thought she wove in Campbell’s profession as an author really creatively. I also liked the way each woman took so much time to better herself, and how respectful Campbell was of Sloane’s journey. The cast of characters was also really entertaining. I hope Riley gets her own book. It was a little repetitive at times, but the perspective theme was interesting and on the whole I enjoyed this one.

Short summary: after college, Campbell thought she’d never see Sloane again. But that was before she became a best-selling author with a film adaptation and Sloane starring in the lead role.
