This book should come with a box of tissues and a bottle of water. It’s compact yet had me crying 20% in all the way through to the last page. Not because it’s some epic tragedy (though in a way it is), but because it’s so human, and I imagine for most in relationships-the feelings are so relatable. I felt for Emma every step of the way and kind of loved how unapologetic she was about her journey. Like all Taylor Jenkins Reid’s books, she knocked it out of the park. Queer rep: bisexual best friend.
Short summary: Emma is enjoying a celebratory night out with her fiancé when her husband calls. Her husband who has been lost at sea for years has been found and is coming home. Now Emma must choose between her past and present and decide what she wants for her future.
