An impressive duology. Misrule basically picks up where Malice left off - they are not stand alone books. I was so excited for the romance to seriously climax in this book andddd was left a bit wanting - because of that 4 stars. Otherwise I thought the world building was really interesting and I liked the nuances between good and evil and wondering what the middle way could possibly be. At times, Alyce frustrated me. I thought after 100 years, she’d be a lot more mature- though I came to really like her in the last 30%. The addition of Derek was fun, and I continued to adore Aurora. If you’re craving fantasy (more than romance), this is a great one to pick up.

Short Summary: 100 years have passed. Alyce has established the Dark Court while Aurora sleeps. When she wakes will she be able to love Alyce again despite the wreckage she’s wrought or was love only possible on Aurora’s terms…
