This is a young/new adult coming of age, POC, queer story.
The criticism I’ve read of this book is legitimate- it can come across as didactic and it’s more character than plot driven, but I still enjoyed it. I liked learning about the different women Juliet was researching for her internship and learning about queer culture through her experience coming to terms with herself.
Short summary: Juliet quickly comes out to her family and then flies across the US for an internship with her favorite feminist author in Portland, OR where she spends the summer learning about women and herself.
