This is a burning love story about ill conceived fated mates. It’s kind of a two-in-one love story and sibling relationship as the main character grapples with her sister’s suicide and falls for the man whose car she jumped in front of. Super high stakes and tension. The chemistry was on fire! The only thing that gave me pause was the dirty talk/way they spoke to each other in the bedroom and some of their momentum felt out of character but everything else was so loaded, so inevitable, but also full of realistic angst. Plus it was fun to see inside a writers room. In terms of the grief element, I felt there was just enough cynicism and resentment to not be completely tortured. The first chapter is the perfect flavor of this balance so if you like that, keep reading. Queer rep: queernorm world, secondary and tertiary gay and lesbian characters.

Short summary: When Helen arrives in the writers room to produce a script for her book-to-tv-series, the last person she expects to see at the helm is the man who was driving the car that killed her sister. Or for him to be so handsome and kind…
