More like house of horror.. It’s hard for me to know what to do with this book. I don’t read horror so maybe it’s par for the course but it wasn’t for me. In the first place, I found the pacing much too slow until about 70% in when sh*t hit the fan all the way til the end. Though there is a relationship, I didn’t feel any chemistry between Marion and Lisavet. The world-building was good but I would have liked more explanations towards the end. Ultimately, I just wasn’t a fan of the main character or the story, but again, horror’s not my thing.

Short summary: When Marion answers an ad to be a bloodmaid, she doesn’t expect to be picked, let alone have such favorable blood it lands her in a coveted position. But all is not what it seems in her new lap of luxury and as Marion rises, so begins her fall.
