A modern day Juliet & Juliet story with a family feud over pastelitos. It’s an enemies to lovers with the sharp dialogue you’d expect but surprisingly low angst. I liked both characters and thought they had great chemistry but some of the scenes didn’t do it for me, there were places the story didn’t go as far as I wanted, and when the romance happened it was too fast for me even though it made sense with the story. It’s cute though and I suspect what bothered me won’t bother others. I like JJ Arias’ writing and would recommend her books.
Short Summary: Born into feuding families, Lauren and Sylvie are natural enemies.
