This book had me laughing out loud from start to finish. It’s absurd and dark but also clever and hilarious. It’s hard to take seriously but I think that’s the point, it’s satire and mystery/thriller with heart. Parts felt stereotyped but since it’s equal opportunist across the board, I’m thinking that was on purpose and read it as such. The only thing I didn’t understand was why Nathan forgave Meddy so easily- he seemed a little too good to be true- and though I could suspend belief for everything else, somehow that felt too far. But no matter, because this book was such a page turner, it’s pure entertainment and I’m here for it. Queer rep: lesbian side characters.

Short summary: When Meddy goes on a blind date arranged by her mother, she doesn’t expect it to end in murder..or for the corpse to follow her to the island where she and her family are putting on a wedding…or for her ex to be there… you have to read it to believe it.
