To me one of the marks of a good romance is if I feel that ache in my gut when the characters should be together but aren’t yet, or have been but can’t get their shit quite together to see it through. This book gave me all the feels. It made me and ache and it had me grinning. Not surprisingly though since I loved Never Say Never by Rachael Sommers too. She’s great at writing icier characters with big hearts, and this book definitely delivers. I loved the story, I loved the texting, I loved the chemistry, I loved the characters.
Short summary: Lily returns to her hometown after a bad break-up, and for her first teaching job at the high school. She’s immediately struck by her icy colleague, Eva. But Eva has reasons of her own to be in the town, and a dating past that also haunts her. Will these enemies become lovers, or are they too different to get along?
