This is the second book in the Breaking Character series (but it stands alone). I wanted to like it as much as Breaking Character but it wasn’t nearly as compelling. It takes place in beautiful New Zealand and follows Elizabeth’s friend Alex to a movie she is directing there. I didn’t care for Alex nearly as much as the Breaking Character MCs, and Sam, the local cop, even less. The movie Alex is directing and the way she turns it around is creative, but the rest fell short for me.

Short Summary: Alex heads to New Zealand to resuscitate a movie numerous directors have abandoned. There she runs into local cop, Sam. The two keep bumping into each other, even more so as a mystery unfolds on set. Will it bring them together or will distance force them apart…after all, Alex will return to LA when she’s done filming?
