A brilliant ode to romance novels; it’s almost like fan fiction for romance novels. This is a love letter to books and the people who create them, and also to New York. The pacing of the first act and the wittiness of the dialogue..this book is a master class in effective showing versus telling and balancing the two. It just works. The chemistry is sizzly, but equally so I enjoyed the relationship between the MC and her sister, and the memories of their mother. It has so much depth swimming beneath the surface. Get this book, you won’t regret it!
Short summary: literary agent Nora is a shark who’s accessible to her clients 24/7, but above all things is devoted to her baby sister, Libby. When Libby demands they go on a month-long vacation together to a small town in North Carolina, the last person Nora expects to see is surly editor Charlie.
