It was fun reading about the rockstar life, but this book didn’t do it for me. I can’t put my finger on what it was, possibly slow and a bit cliche. That said, I did want to finish and the third act got more exciting. I liked the characters. There were things that got repetitive and some of the dialogue was corny. The best friend was great though, and I could see them writing a second book in this universe for her.
Short summary: Max is a solo rockstar verging on too old at 42, so her manager proposes a reunion/tribute tour with her original band when one of the members dies. Conveniently that member has a 27 yo daughter who is a rockstar in her own right even if she hasn’t performed. Naturally the two can’t be together, but can they stay apart?
