Ah yes, McCallan has done it again. It’s so easy to slip into the worlds she creates and love her characters. Nora and Gray are both as fallible as they are lovable. They have major baggage but they both yearn to work through it. The tension arose naturally as did their chemistry. There was an unexpectedly heartwarming bit that had tears brimming. And the ending was perfect. The only thing I didn’t love was I felt the interiority was a tad belabored. But the last 40% really flew for me and as I said, I loved the ending. I also liked Gray’s best friend Becks and that their friendship was born from a relationship- i haven’t see that much and thought it was handled really well. Go get this book and then read her backlist!

Short summary: All Nora wants is the free vacation she earned for being the best agent this year. A week of uninterrupted quiet which basically mirrors her life, which is devoid of human connection (other than clients) by design. So imagine her frustration when she discovers a second agent won too, and Gray will be accompanying her to Bermuda. Gray has it all together, or so everyone thinks. She too is running from a painful past looking for a new beginning. Both women have hurdles to cross and keep at bay before their undeniable attraction takes hold.
